Lexus displays modified models, electric sports concept at 2022 SEMA

MANILA: Six outstanding automobiles representing Lexus’ future will be on display by the carmaker in a larger, new location at the 2022 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show in the US.

Bold design, user-friendly technology, electrification, and the Lexus Driving Signature are the four major pillars that reflect the company's driving power, and all of its manifestations are on show for the aftermarket enthusiast's paradise.

The most aggressive performance-focused project car Lexus has shown off at SEMA began as an IS 350 F Sport. This new flagship turbocharged engine from the parent brand's Dynamic Force engine family allows this Lexus to take F Sport to a new level, testing at more than 600 horsepower, hence the designation Lexus DSport IS600+.

The sports sedan is propelled by a cutting-edge, 3.5-liter, all-aluminum V35A V6 engine that is fed by two billet compressor wheel turbochargers. For improved response and reliable performance, the engine blends direct and port fuel injection with effective breathing. The small package incorporates liquid-to-air intercoolers to help reduce intake charge temperature and increase power.

This extremely economical engine, which was derived from the LS 500, has been leveled up with higher boost levels, recalibrated fuel and ignition curves, and massaged CT28 turbos to enable the Lexus DSport IS 600+ to see over 600 horsepower on E85 fuel in a motorsports trim. Thanks to engine and transmission connection via the Emtron engine management system, a Samsonas full-sequential six-speed transmission is paddle shifted to boost driver engagement.

The Lexus Electrified Sport envisions a potential zero-to-100kph time in the low two-second range and a cruising distance that could exceed 430 miles, thanks to the potential use of solid-state batteries. It unleashes the full potential of electrification to push all of the limits on both the road and the track. This sporty coupe for two people was created by CALTY in Newport Beach, California.

The 2022 Lexus LX 600 F Sport wowed the SEMA audience last year as it celebrated the much-anticipated redesign of the Lexus flagship SUV and showcased the first-ever F SPORT grade for the model. This year, Lexus has reimagined the 2022 LX 600 F Sport with an attainable aftermarket build for the sophisticated urban traveler.

While that LX 600 had the undeniable capability required for any off-road adventure, the Lexus LX 600 Urban Concept street-friendly build by Annex Marketing incorporates more practical components for daily use with a lower, lighter, more grounded look achieved by a custom Artisan Spirits multi-piece body kit with color matched paint and exposed carbon fiber.

Head-turning styling elements complete the look with HRE 540 Series wheels with a Satin Bronze Center Finish and Gloss Black Outers, custom Artisan Spirits Black Label Titanium exhaust and complementary Gloss Black Brembo B-M8 brakes.

The result of a cooperation handcrafted at the nexus of luxury and adventure is the LX 600 Alpine Lifestyle Concept. The classic, long-lasting, outdoor enthusiast YETI basics that provide the comfort and convenience of home wherever the road takes you are meticulously complemented by the unrivaled cabin refinement of the premium SUV in this LX 600.

The Hiraku Co. created the Lexus LX 600 Alpine Lifestyle Concept, which has features like the Dissent Off-road Body Armor System, JAOS Carbon Fiber Over Fenders, Rigid Industries lighting, and aggressive Vossen HF6-4 Hybrid Forged 209.5 Anthracite wheels mounted with Bridgestone All-Terrain T/A KO2 tires that are practical and realistic additions.

Each element of the LX 600 Alpine Lifestyle Concept has a thoughtful purpose. The Dissent Off-road 5052 Aluminum Rack System serves as a robust platform for additional gear storage, like YETI LoadOut GoBoxes, YETI Tundra coolers and the YETI Trailhead Camp Chairs. Moving inside, the LX 600 Alpine Lifestyle Concept also includes the TrekBoxx Expedition System that stores gear efficiently, providing the ultimate tailgating experience with a galley space for preparing food or cocktails.

This GX 460 Overland Concept was created by Lexus in collaboration with Cruiser Outfitters and is based on the 2022 GX 460 Blackline Edition. It maintains the luxury features that make it a standout model in the Lexus lineup while maintaining its reputation for navigating challenging terrain and reaching remote backcountry areas.

The objective of this project is to offer a vision that encourages customers to discover their world and take pleasure in the journey to their destination in a friendly, environmentally friendly manner.

The rear cargo area buildout features Goose Gear drawers, Kaon racks/table and an ARB fridge, offering refined storage and organization with quick access to the refrigerator, stove and camp gear. The drawers are loaded with an array of camping, cooking and recovery gear, all stowed securely and safely when not in use. The undercarriage features a full complement of CBI protection from the sliders and skid plates. To top it off, the Prinsu roof rack offers the utility of mounting and storage for gear in addition to supporting the Yakima roof top tent.

The Lexus GX 460 Overland Concept also features the ARB Linx switch control system, Rigid lighting, ARB compressor and Yaesu 2M radio for trail and emergency communications. The rear door provides a High Ground Fabrication tire mount that allows easy access to the matching oversized wheel and tire.

With a striking Matte Violet Metallic wrap professionally applied by Gordon Ting of Annex Marketing and mounted on 22-inch Rays Engineering Homura 2x15BD rims with performance Michelin Pilot Sport tires, Lexus' best-selling luxury SUV makes its SEMA premiere.

The 2023 Lexus RX 500h F Sport Performance AWD introduces a new hybrid electric system for the Lexus brand with a front unit that integrates a high-torque 2.4-liter turbo engine, six-speed automatic transmission, an electric motor, and a "eAxle" rear unit that integrates a high output electric motor, inverter, and reduction gearbox. This vehicle personifies the four Lexus pillars of bold design, electrification, intuitive technology, and the Lexus Driving Signature.

With this set up, the electric motor can produce low-end torque, which contributes to better performance and quick acceleration. The turbocharged engine delivers strong acceleration even at higher speeds by producing high torque across the whole rpm range.

The 2023 Lexus RX 500h F Sport Performance grade, a first for the RX range, goes beyond the F Sport design package of the current generation for a sportier, more performance-driven look and feel. The front bumper, mesh grille, opposed six-piston brake calipers, and 21-inch aluminum wheels on the RX 500h give it a broad, assured posture while also enhancing aerodynamic performance.
